About VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Subscription by Broadcom
Since Broadcom acquired VMware, VMware software is sold as per-core subscriptions, primarily VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF). This service supplies those subscriptions in blocks of 512 physical cores, registered to your company’s own Broadcom support account, and takes the licensing administration off your team’s plate.
We inventory your hosts, count licensed cores with Broadcom’s rules (every physical CPU is licensed for at least 16 cores) and map them to the right edition, including the vSAN capacity entitlement that comes with it. We then manage license keys, the Broadcom Support Portal, renewals and compliance reporting, and we can open and follow Broadcom support cases on your behalf.
Subscriptions are subject to Broadcom’s end-user terms for VMware software. Cores can be added during the term, prorated to your renewal date, but Broadcom subscriptions generally cannot be reduced or cancelled once ordered, and Broadcom price changes may apply at renewal.
